Privacy Policy — Mimosa Timer

Mimosa Timer (“the extension”) is a gentle break-reminder extension for Chrome. We keep data collection to an absolute minimum.

What stays on your device

All settings (reminder mode, interval, fixed times, focus-area selections, pause state, notification sound preference, and your custom greeting) are stored locally via Chrome’s storage API. If you replace the reminder sound with your own audio file, that file is kept only in local extension storage on this device and is never uploaded.

If you are signed in to Chrome with sync enabled, these settings sync across your own devices through your Google account. We never receive a copy of these settings on our servers.

What is sent, and where

If — and only if — you tick focus areas or type a message in the feedback box on the options page and click “Confirm”, that content (your message text and/or the selected focus-area labels) is sent over HTTPS to our own website, mimosareset.com (WordPress + Fluent Forms), where it is stored as a form entry and emailed to the site administrator. This happens only when you explicitly save, and only with the content you just wrote or selected.

When you click a reminder notification, the selected focus-area labels are appended to the mimosareset.com link as a URL parameter (e.g. ?areas=neck-shoulders,lower-back) so the page can highlight relevant content. This parameter is only ever sent to our own website.

What we never do

  • No analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising, no cookies.
  • We do not collect browsing history, page content, or any data from the websites you visit.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties.

Permissions explained

  • alarms / notifications: needed to schedule and show break reminders.
  • storage: needed to save your preferences.
  • offscreen: needed only to play the reminder sound (Chrome’s background workers cannot play audio directly).
  • Host access for mimosareset.com: needed only to deliver the feedback you explicitly submit.
